We all thought that the Domincan Republic would sweep past the Netherlands. Admit it. There was not one person who thought that the Netherlands would beat the Dominican in TWO games. We thought that the Dominican would sweep right past them into the next round. Well we were wrong!!


The Dominican has started to make excuses. Sound familiar to you USA Fans? They were "not read" and not in "game form." Move past it. You were beat by a team that was more prepared then you. Notice the word prepared, not better. The Dominican was obviously the better team, with all their studs. But the Netherlands were prepared for it. 


For this I give a standing ovation to the Netherlands.

Its the World Cup of Baseball. Its the World Baseball Classic. Although the WBC is not as big as the World CUp, I find it just as enjoyable to watch. Seeing MLB players fighting for the glory of their native country and possibly seeing future MLB prospects and stars. One major MLB that has come from a WBC star to a MLB star is Daisuke Matsuzaka of the Japanese National Team and now number 18(formerly Johnny "Jesus" Damon's number) for the Boston Red Sox. We saw a surprise team emerge in the Inaugural WBC in Korea, who rose to the occasion again in the 2008 Summer Olympics in China to get the final gold medal that will be given out to a baseball team in the olympics:(. But im not here to go on and on about my Native Land's team winning the The GOld Medal or being a srprise in the WBC. Im hear to give you a preview of the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
